FUJITSU INTRODUCES 2.5" SERIAL ATA HARD DISK DRIVE.

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a supplier of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, has introduced the MHT-BH. The Fujitsu MHT-BH is the world's first 2.5" 9.5mm mobile hard disk drive (HDD (Hard Disk Drive) See hard disk and HDD caddy.

The original Parallel ATA (PATA) interface was launched in 1986.  Extensions that supports Native Command Queuing The ability to store multiple commands and execute them one at a time. .

The new Fujitsu hard disk drive will be among the world's smallest, fastest and most efficient hard disk drives available today, enabling innovation and improvements in everything from laptop and notebook computers, to other platforms and applications.

In unveiling the MHT-BH, Fujitsu becomes the world's first hard disk drive vendor to deliver the power of the integrated Serial ATA See SATA.

Additionally, the new Fujitsu hard disk drive features Native Command Queuing (NCQ NCQ Native Command Queuing ), an important feature that intelligently and simultaneously coordinates up to 32 instructions to be queued and reordered by the hard disk controller, contributing to a significant improvement in overall hard disk drive performance.

"Fujitsu is pleased to deliver yet another industry-first," said Joel Hagberg, vice president of marketing at Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "Fujitsu's hard disk drive technology enables the introduction of the native Serial ATA II interface into new notebook systems, with better performance, improved value and years of exciting product development."

The Fujitsu MHT-BH was developed with the support of Marvell Semiconductor, Inc., a long-standing Fujitsu partner, whose single chip Serial ATA SOC eliminates the need for a bridge chip providing the benefits of a Serial ATA interface and a price point that rivals traditional parallel ATA See PATA.  products.

"Marvell is excited to join Fujitsu in this critical industry-first," said Dr. Alan Armstrong, Marvell's vice president of marketing for the Storage Business Group. "We are pleased that we could bring the performance and innovation inherent in the Marvell 88i6535 SOC to Fujitsu's long legacy of technical HDD superiority, in a manner that will serve customers and raise the bar for the entire HDD industry."

Specifications

Fujitsu designed the MHT-BH 2.5" Serial ATA mobile hard disk drive to provide specifications that are critical for today's mobile and enterprise computing Refers to information technology in the larger company. See enterprise data and enterprise networking.  applications:

-- Capacity: 40GB, 60GB, 80GB -- Rotational Speed Rotational speed (sometimes called speed of revolution) indicates, for example, how fast a motor is running. Rotational speed is equivalent to angular speed, but with different units. Rotational speed tells how many complete rotations (i.e. : 5400rpm -- Areal Density The number of bits per square inch of storage surface. It typically refers to disk drives, where the number of bits per inch (bpi) times the number of tracks per inch (tpi) yields the areal density. : 69Gb/sq.inch -- Interface: SATA II Phase 1, ATA-7 -- Native Command Queuing -- Staggered Spin Up -- Hot Plug -- Track to Track Seek Time: 1.5ms -- Host Transfer rate: 150 MB/s -- Operating Shock: 225G (2ms)
