FUJISAWA USA APPOINTS HERRICK TO MARKET PLANNING POST

 DEERFIELD, Ill., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujisawa USA, Inc. (FUSA) today announced that it has named James D. Herrick senior director of market planning. In this newly created position, Herrick will provide leadership in developing and marketing products and services that will benefit FUSA customers in the changing health care environment.
 "FUSA recognizes that tomorrow's industry leaders will concentrate on customers and how products fit into the needs of changing markets," said Patrick D. Walsh, FUSA vice president of sales and marketing. "Jim Herrick's experience and insight into these markets will guide future development of products and services for our growing customer base."
 Herrick was formerly vice president and director of pharmacy services for American Healthcare Systems Purchasing Partners, L.P., in San Diego. During a six-year tenure as AmHS, Herrick designed, developed and implemented a national pharmacy group purchasing program for 950 hospitals and managed care facilities with purchases exceeding $1.2 billion annually. Prior to that, Herrick held several positions in marketing, personnel and pharmacy operations management at Healthone, a Minneapolis-based hospital system.
 Herrick attended the University of Wisconsin where he earned a B.S. in Pharmacy in 1968 and a M.Sc. in Hospital Pharmacy in 1970.
