FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA announced that the Department of Defense (DoD) has selected Fuji's Synapse PACS for the DIN-PACS II contract. The contract will be the basis for which the DoD and other federal agencies, including the Veterans Administration, will procure PACS for their own facilities. Fuji's Synapse has roots deep into military requirements. PACS industry analysts have long known that Synapse was developed by the same engineering team that deployed the first military PACS project, then known as MDIS (Medical Diagnostic Imaging Support).
