FUJI CAPITAL MARKETS NAMES YUTAKA KOMATSU PRESIDENT, CEO
NEW YORK, May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Fuji Capital Markets Corporation

(FCMC), the capital markets subsidiary of The Fuji Bank, Ltd. in the U.S., announced today that Yutaka Komatsu has been named president and chief executive officer, effective April 30, 1992. Komatsu has also become chairman of FCMC's subsidiary, Fuji Capital Markets (UK) Ltd. In his new position, Komatsu is responsible for interest rate and currency swaps and derivatives handled outside of Japan.
Komatsu replaces Shiro Yanagihara, who successfully oversaw the launching of FCMC as Fuji Bank's vehicle for an expanded capital markets presence in the U.S. Yanagihara is returning to Tokyo to take up another position within Fuji Bank as part of its regular management rotation.
Komatsu, aged 44, has been with The Fuji Bank since 1970 when he joined the Yaesuguchi Branch in Tokyo. His most recent position was that of deputy general manager of the International Business & Products Development Division in Tokyo.
During his career at The Fuji Bank, Komatsu has held a variety of positions including: assistant manager of the Foreign Exchange Department in Tokyo; manager of the New York Branch of the Foreign Exchange Department and joint general manager of the Chicago Branch. Komatsu then returned to Fuji's Tokyo head office as deputy general manager of the International Planning Division.
"Swaps and derivatives have become an integral part of both the capital markets and the corporate financing process," Komatsu said. "The challenge is to further develop our already solid expertise in this area in an effort to increase our involvement in corporate finance and capital market activities. It is a challenge I welcome."
Komatsu received his B.A. from Hitotsubashi University in 1970. He will be residing with his family in Great Neck, N.Y.
