FTVentures Names New Partners.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Eric Byunn and Chris Winship have been promoted to Partner at FTVentures, a private equity firm that provides growth capital to companies providing meaningful solutions to the financial services industry. Byunn, focused on software investing, and Winship, focused on business services investing, are both part of the firm's San Francisco office.

"Eric and Chris have been instrumental to the growth and success of FTVentures and have been key contributors to our deal team," said Richard Garman, FTVentures Managing Partner. "Both individuals have consistently demonstrated strong leadership and investment skills and have built solid track records."

Byunn currently serves on the boards of the following FTVentures portfolio companies: Cloudmark, a provider of email spam and fraud solutions; Coremetrics, a provider of web analytics and precision marketing solutions; GMI, an online global market research firm; Intrepid Learning Solutions, a corporate training solutions company; ProfitLine, an outsourced telecom expense management firm; and SourceCode Technology Holdings, a business process management software company. Byunn was actively involved with the board and management of KVS, an email archiving software firm acquired by Veritas (NASDAQ:VRTS) in August 2004.

Prior to joining FTVentures in 2002, Byunn was Director of Online Services at myCFO, a start-up wealth management firm. He joined myCFO from America Online, where he held several roles including management of Netscape's Personal Finance Channel. Prior to the acquisition of Netscape by AOL, Eric led product management for the Netscape Navigator browser. He has also worked at Microsoft and at McKinsey & Company, where he primarily worked with telecommunications clients. Eric received an AB summa cum laude from Harvard University, where he focused on economics and computer science, and an MBA from Stanford University.

Winship currently serves on the boards of the following FTVentures portfolio companies: Capital H Group, a human capital consulting and outsourcing firm; CapitalStream, a provider of workflow automation solutions; Freeborders, an IT and outsourcing company with operations in China; and MedSynergies, a provider of outsourced healthcare billing and claims services. Winship worked closely with the board and management of Verus Financial Management, a payment processing services firm, from the start-up of the company through its acquisition by The Sage Group (LSE:SGE) last year for $325 million.

Prior to joining FTVentures in 1999, Winship was a Financial Analyst with Salomon Smith Barney's media and telecommunication's group. Prior to Salomon Smith Barney, Winship worked at Putnam Investments in Boston, MA, in Putnam's sales and marketing divisions. Chris received a BA in Government from Dartmouth College.
