Don Marion, vice president/general manager of B96, "Radio and the Internet are both intensely rich media experiences that can benefit exponentially from one another. We are very excited by the numbers of listeners coming onto the site as well as the phenomenal amount of time they are staying."

The station is publicizing its new site through an ongoing advertising program that includes a strong outdoor billboard campaign plus strong on-air promotions and giveaways.

"It's incredibly exciting and satisfying to work with a station such as B96 that understands the incredible opportunity that the Internet offers to radio. B96 is using its strong brand and the power of its airwaves to drive its loyal listeners to the site, where there is a wealth of payoff," said David Kendrick, FTM president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president.
. "B96 is on the cutting edge of convergence of these two great delivery mediums, and we're thrilled to be a part of it. The site is generating millions of monthly page views with a stickiness (time spent per user session) already among the highest of any radio station in America."

Becky Connor, FTM's Contemporary Hit Radio producer, added, "The B96 site hit the ground running with a hugely successful $10,000 online contest. B96.com has already proven to be a very important new distribution channel for the station with phenomenal traffic numbers and incredible `stickiness.' We look forward to continuing to push the envelope with B96."

Feed The Monster introduced a very unique feature to the home page of the B96 site, at the request of the station. A combination of 3D modeling tools and Macromedia(R) Flash(TM) was used to create an animated 3D cartoon of Eddie and JoBo, B96's morning team.

According to Nic Johnson, vice president of Content Development at Feed the Monster, this feature "Gives the site's visitors a fully animated preview of Eddie and JoBo's potential 3D series right on the home page. It's a fun, user-friendly welcoming to the site that maintains the look and feel of Eddie and JoBo's 3D series."

Kendrick added that B96 is the fourth Feed the Monster station to be launched in the past nine months and the first in the contemporary hit radio format. FTM already has launched www.kroq.com (KROQ, Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. ), www.live105.com (KITS, San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden ) and www.wbcn.com (WBCN, Boston), all Infinity-owned alternative rock stations.

"Our goal is to develop and build sites for the country's most powerful radio stations in seven formats in the largest 25 U.S. markets," Kendrick said. "And with each launch coming quicker on the heels of the previous and our resounding re·sound

All the FTM sites feature DJ pages -- some with animated interviews -- as well as games, contests, downloadable music, free screen savers, 3-D graphics, chat rooms and more.
