FTD HELPS U.S. BUSINESSES 'CELEBRATE THE BASICS' THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- For many U.S. businesses, recent economic trends have slowed new growth and made it increasingly important to retain current clients and customers. Technological advances such as fax machines and electronic voice mail systems have increased business productivity and efficiency, but the personal, one- on-one relationship between a business and its customers is sometimes forgotten. The annual holiday season may revive the personal factor to some extent, but in recent years many businesses have scaled down or eliminated corporate holiday giving. In response to these trends, this holiday season the Florists' Transworld Delivery Association (FTD) is offering U.S. businesses a complimentary Corporate Gift Guide created specifically for business professionals.
"We wanted to help the hard-working people, who run both big and small businesses, bring back and celebrate the basics of the business/customer relationship," said Ken Coley, president of FTD and owner of San Diego Flowers in San Diego. "We are offering businesses affordable holiday gift options for recognizing the patrons of their business, and the employees who work hard for them," explained Coley.
FTD is offering a complimentary brochure to consumers who call 1-800-370-3737 and ask for the Corporate Gift Guide.
The guide presents color photographs of more than 15 floral gift- giving options and features two specially-valued holiday arrangements, the FTD Holly Basket(tm) Bouquet and the FTD Brass Horn(tm) Bouquet. According to Coley, all of the arrangements are available through time-saving wiring delivery and are appropriate for business contacts and clients, employees, and office decorations and celebrations.
FTD, headquartered just outside of Detroit in Southfield, Mich., was founded in 1910 by 15 retail florists who agreed to exchange orders for out-of-town floral deliveries, and today is owned and directed by more than 24,000 independent retail Members Florists in the United States and Canada. In the 1991-92 fiscal year, Member Florists delivered nearly 20 million FTD flowers-by-wire orders which generated sales of just under $700 million.
