FSCT focuses on leading developments in coatings with two major ACSeries programs in 2006.

Providing ongoing access to information on new technologies and new solutions, the FSCT FSCT Federation of Societies for Coating Technology
FSCT Fire Support Control Terminal
will sponsor two new Advancements in Coatings Series (ACSeries) programs in 2006. To be co-located at the Hyatt Regency Regency, in British history, the period of the last nine years (1811–20) of the reign of George III, when the king's insanity had rendered him unfit to rule and the government was vested in the prince of Wales (later George IV) as regent.  O'Hare in Rosemont, IL, "Additives 2006" and "21st Century Manufacturing: Efficiency AND Compliance," will be held on June 19-21, 2006. Bridging the programs will be the ACSeries Expo, featuring products and services related to these two critical areas.

Additives 2006

This informative symposium symposium

In ancient Greece, an aristocratic banquet at which men met to discuss philosophical and political issues and recite poetry. It began as a warrior feast. Rooms were designed specifically for the proceedings.
will provide attendees with a practical understanding of the concepts and available technologies for a wide range of additives commonly used to improve performance in both waterborne and solvent-based coatings. "Additives 2006" features a one-day short course, followed by a two-day symposium. (See related article on this page.)

This ACSeries is intended for coatings formulators, including R & D application development and technical service personnel, as well as end-users of coatings, inks, adhesives, and sealants.

Expected Outcomes

* Learn about different kinds of additives, and understand how they are used in coatings, inks, adhesives, and sealants

* Learn the principles of additives and their uses

* Learn how to select the right additive additive

Presenters will discuss how smaller companies can compete with the "800-pound gorillas" through competitive economies in delivering products and services.

The event consists of a three-day conference: a one-day program focusing on issues related to "Efficiency and Compliance" followed by a two-day program on "Manufacturing Operations and Training." Included as part of the two-day and full registration is a tour of True Value Manufacturing in Cary, IL.

The program is expected to attract professionals from small to mid-sized paint companies involved in areas such as manufacturing, planning and scheduling, warehousing, transportation, environmental, and sales and marketing.

Expected Outcomes

* Learn techniques and tools that will help you reduce costs and improve profitability at your company

* Hear first-hand how other paint manufacturers have used these techniques and the results they have achieved

* Understand the effects that upcoming environmental regulations will have on your business

* Understand how you can get the most from implementing ERP systems to improve your business

* Be the first to hear about equipment breakthroughs

Additives for paints and coatings serve a critical function, enabling formulators to meet the continuing performance requirements of customers as well as the increasingly rigorous demands of environmental regulators. The additives field is a broad area that has a major impact not only on coatings formulation, but also on business and technology. Yet, despite the importance of this area, many in the coatings industry continue to have questions about the most cost-effective and efficient use of these materials.

Responding to the need for a practical understanding of this essential area, the FSCT is hosting "Additives 2006," a three-day ACSeries event to be held June 19-21 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, IL. According to according to

This ACSeries event begins with a one-day Short Course. In addition, the program will provide insight into the impact of current environmental regulations on the use of additives.

"Additives 2006" is designed to provide real world solutions, based on evidence of performance from materials in current use. The objective is to develop a program that provides good depth, offering information not easily gathered from other sources, and that represents the major segments of the industry. "There are many places to go to get information, but this program will offer a comprehensive account of what's going on What's Going On is a record by American soul singer Marvin Gaye.
