FROM WHISTLING TO WRESTLING TO PASSOVER SEDERS ON 'E' AT FILM FESTIVAL.

LANCASTER - Feature films, documentaries and short films from around the world will be showcased next weekend at the 10th annual Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

 Independent Film Festival.

More than 70 filmmakers and hundreds of film fans are expected to attend the festival, which will show more than 60 films shown on two screens at the Cinemark Movies 12.

Films include West Coast premieres of "Pucker puck·er  
v. puck·ered, puck·er·ing, puck·ers

 Up: The Fine Art of Whistling" and the Thai film "Citizen Dog," along with a retrospective of the most popular short films from the festival's past 10 years.

Filmmakers will discuss their work following the screenings.

The films will be shown Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Movies 12, 44790 Valley Central Way, Lancaster.

Festival passes are available at Cinemark Movies 12 for $40.

Tickets for each program are $10 general admission and $8 for students or festival members.

At the festival:

A series of short films launch the festival at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Documentary shorts open the Saturday program at 11 a.m.

"Pucker Up," directed by Kate Davis and David Heilbroner, screens at 8 p.m. Saturday. The film documents the International Whistling Championship, with performances of everything from Mozart to swing.

After the screening, the directors will be present to talk with the audience.

"Citizen Dog," which was shown at the Cannes and Toronto film festivals, will make its first appearance in California at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Writer-director Wisit Sasanatieng's film is about a shy country boy named Pod who tries to make his way in the big city.

More shorts will be shown at midnight Saturday.
