ART SHOWS

George Evano leads the First Friday Artwalk, starting at 5:30 p.m. today at Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts. Other stops, in order: SLUG Queen Surprise, Circle of Hands and Fenario Gallery.

Also open tonight, but not part of the walking tour: Jacobs, White Lotus and Karin Clarke galleries. Local artists will be selling their works along the Broadway sidewalks.

TICKET WINDOW

Labor Day weekend shows include Stanley Clarke, Al Di Meola and Jean-Luc Ponty in Jacksonville; the Marley Brothers and Toots and the Maytals in Portland; the Dave Matthews Band with Jason Mraz, Ari Hest and Jem at the Gorge; Emmylou Harris, Buddy and Julie Miller and Patty Griffin in Jacksonville; the Pixies, Death Cab for Cutie and the Decemberists in Bend; and Ashlee Simpson, JC Chasez, Monica Shifty, Avril Lavigne, Ryan Cabrera, Keith Sweat and others in Portland.
