FREIGHTLINER AND ASC TRIM INTRODUCE THE FLD 120 CONVENTIONAL
WITH THE 70-INCH RAISED-ROOF SLEEPER CAB
SOUTHGATE, Mich., Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Freightliner and ASC Trim have combined their resources to design, engineer and manufacture the most advanced Class 8 interior available on the market for FLD 120 with the 70-inch raised-roof sleeper cab.
Unveiled at the Anaheim Truck Show in California in July, the FLD 120 with the 70-inch raised-roof sleeper cab is available in conventional and COE (cab over engine) configurations.
"The reaction to the 70-inch sleeper cab was astounding at the truck show," commented James Hebe, Freightliner president and CEO. "The truck offers the best ride in its class, and is particularly appealing to owner-operators and premium fleets," he added. "It is absolutely the nicest truck on the market -- nothing even comes close!"
The interior features a revolutionary bunk system designed by ASC's Advanced Concepts. The bunk folds up, providing increased space for a single user and has resulted in substantial weight savings. The shelving, which also adds structure, provides 122 cubic feet of storage from the floor to the top of the extended sleeper cab. The sleeper cab also features individual sound and climate controls for increased comfort. At the top of the eight-foot ceiling is a large skylight which is complemented by generous side windows, allowing natural light to pour in.
"We are very pleased to provide Freightliner with the expertise that we've gained in bringing creative concepts to the transportation industry," stated Al Luke, vice president of ASC Trim. "The ASC and Freightliner relationship is a natural blend of leadership with each company complementing the other's strengths. The end result is an excellent product that provides service and comfort to our hard-working trucking industry."
ASC Trim supplies 100 percent of all domestic Freightliner interiors and is a division of ASC Incorporated.
