SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - Travel in and out of the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. It stretches through Los Angeles County and Ventura County. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672.  this summer is going to require some extra time as one lane in each direction of the Golden State Freeway The Golden State Freeway is a north-south freeway running through Kern County and Los Angeles County, California. Originally built as U.S. Highway 99, it was re-signed as Interstate 5 in 1964.  will shut down for three years, Caltrans officials said.

Within the next two weeks, one north lane of the interstate will be closed from Magic Mountain Parkway to Rye Canyon Road until March 2005. This will allow for replacement of the bridges over Magic Mountain and the Santa Clara River Santa Clara River may refer to:

Three lanes will be open in both directions, but commuters are advised to plan ahead, leave early and find alternate routes An official alternate route is a bannered highway that provides an alternate alignment for a highway. The following overnight lane and ramp closures will be in effect next week.

From 7 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, two to three north- and southbound lanes of the Golden State Freeway will be closed from Valencia Boulevard to State Route 126. The north and southbound off-ramp to Magic Mountain and the Rye Canyon on-ramp southbound will be closed as well.

From 7 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday, one north lane from Valencia Boulevard to State Route 126, two south lanes from Rye Canyon to Magic Mountain, the southbound off-ramp to Magic Mountain, the Rye Canyon on-ramp southbound and the Magic Mountain on-ramp southbound will be closed.
