FREEWAY SECTIONS TO BE SHUT DOWN.

PALMDALE - Sections of Antelope Valley Freeway The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley.  in Palmdale and just south of the city will be closed at night this week because of construction of car-pool lanes, Caltrans said.

City streets that pass under the freeway will also be closed at times this week because of the construction work, officials said. The southbound south·bound

Traffic will be detoured onto either Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling  or 10th Street West, depending on which section is closed each night, Caltrans said.

 freeway closures will occur from 1 to 5 a.m. over the same sections. Traffic will be detoured onto either Sierra Highway or 5th Street East, depending on which section is closed.

Palmdale Boulevard will be closed under the freeway from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Avenue S will be closed beneath the freeway between 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Avenue R will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. or 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Detour signs will be posted for all closures, Caltrans said.
