FREEWAY PROJECT BREAKING GROUND.

CANYON COUNTRY - The city will formally break ground June 30 on a key interchange of the planned Cross Valley Connector project - Golden Valley Road and Soledad Canyon Soledad Canyon is a long narrow canyon / valley located in Los Angeles County, California between the cities of Palmdale and Santa Clarita. Soledad Canyon contains the localities of Vincent, Acton, Ravenna, and Agua Dulce.  Road.

The event will be held at 11:45 a.m. at Centre Pointe Parkway and Golden Valley.

Construction of the interchange is expected to be complete in the fall of 2005. The contractor is Security Paving.

The Cross Valley Connector is an east-west 8 1/2-mile road that will link the Golden State and Antelope Valley freeways The Antelope Valley Freeway is a freeway in Los Angeles and Kern counties in southern California. It is signed as California State Highway 14 along its length. It connects Greater Los Angeles to the rapidly developing Antelope Valley. .

The Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  City Council will be joined by its funding partners for the project, including Rep. Howard P. ``Buck'' McKeon and Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San .

The section of Golden Valley Road between Green Mountain Drive and Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling  is under construction, with portions of the road already paved. This section of Golden Valley is scheduled to be open to traffic by September.

The portion of Golden Valley and Newhall Ranch Road between Soledad Canyon and Bouquet Canyon Road is under environmental review. The draft environmental document is scheduled to be released in spring 2005 for this portion, which includes a bridge over the Santa Clara River Santa Clara River may refer to:

The city is working with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority on an innovative strategy that would allow the city to ``spend ahead'' of its annual allocation of state transportation funding to initiate the design of the Golden Valley Road bridge over the Santa Clara River. The city also is seeking federal funding.

The groundbreaking is open to the public, although reservations are required; they can be made by calling the city at (661) 255-4939.
