FREE CONCERT IN THE PARK TO RAISE MONEY, SPIRITS.Byline: - Daily News Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. residents will get a chance to share in patriotic song and celebration at a free Warner Park concert Sunday to benefit rescue workers and victims of the Sept. 11 attack victims. Donations raised at the American Spirit United concert will go directly to help the families of rescue personnel killed in the East Coast attacks. More than 5,000 people are estimated to have died in the crashes that involved hijacked commercial airliners, including some 300 firefighters and police who responded to the incidents. ``The Valley residents, in their need to assemble and express their support, have answered the call to help those public servants and their families who were also victimized by the New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of tragedy,'' said Don Sweeney, director of operations for the Valley Cultural Center, organizer of the event. Featured performances will include the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills. Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of James Domine, playing such patriotic favorites as ``God Bless America,'' ``God Bless the USA,'' and ``Battle Hymn of the Republic Battle Hymn of the Republic Union’s Civil War rallying song. There will also be performances by The New Horizon Singers, a choral group of more than 50 voices under the direction of Shelly Cohen cohen or kohen (Hebrew: “priest”) Jewish priest descended from Zadok (a descendant of Aaron), priest at the First Temple of Jerusalem. The biblical priesthood was hereditary and male. ; fireman-singer Curtis James; and singer Cecilia, who will perform her rendition of ``Amazing Grace.''
