 FRANCIS AND WEATHERWAX ELECTED AT BANK ONE, CINCINNATI, NA
 COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerald R. Francis has been elected chairman and chief executive officer and Thomas R. Weatherwax has been elected president and chief operating officer of Bank One, Cincinnati, NA as of Jan. 6, 1992, it was announced today by Donald L. McWhorter, chairman and chief executive officer of Banc One Ohio Corporation. Both Francis and Weatherwax have also been elected directors of Bank One, Cincinnati. John D. O'Shea, who has been president and chief executive officer of Bank One, Cincinnati, NA since 1988, will become president and chief executive officer of Bank One, Marion as of Jan. 6, 1992. In addition, McWhorter announced that Bank One, Middletown will consolidate with Bank One, Cincinnati, NA in mid-year 1992, pending regulatory approval.
 The two Banc One affiliate banks, which serve adjacent and partially overlapping markets, have agreed to consolidate in order to enhance customer service and to serve the market more effectively. When the consolidation is complete, Bank One, Cincinnati should have assets in excess of $1 billion and 37 offices. Additional details will be released in the future.
 McWhorter said, "By consolidating these two fine organizations together with the experience and leadership of Jerry Francis and Tom Weatherwax, Bank One should be prepared to move forward with its strategy for the Cincinnati marketplace."
 Francis, 47, began his banking career in the Dayton area in 1971 and then became director and president of The Metropolitan Bancorp, Inc. and The Metropolitan Bank of Lima (now part of Bank One, Lima, NA) in 1982. He has been regional president of Banc One Ohio Corpration since 1989. Francis holds a B.S. degreee in finance from Wright State University and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Dayton. Francis has been active in communtiy affairs, serving in the past as a director and board chairman of the Lima Area Chamber of Commerce, and as director and finance chairman of the Allen County Economic Development Council.
 Weatherwax will continue as chief executive officer of Bank One, Middletown until the consolidation is completed. He is a third-generation banker. Weatherwax's grandfather, the late Russell S. Weatherwax, Sr. served as chief executive officer of the former Barnitz Bank in Middletown for 27 years. Weatherwax's father, Russell S. Weatherwax, Jr., is now chairman of the board for Bank One, Middletown and served as chief executive officer for 20 years until 1988 when Thomas Weatherwax became president and chief executive officer. Weatherwax has served in various management positions since joining the bank in 1974.
 Weatherwax, 39, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Ohio Northern University, is a graduate of Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University and of the National School of Commercial Lending at University of Oklahoma. He has held numerous community leadership roles and now serves on the board and executive committee of the Middletown Area United Way.
 Bank One, Cincinnati, NA and Bank One, Middletown are affiliates of Banc One Corporation (NYSE: ONE) which has assets of $46.2 billion, including Bank One, Texas, NA. Banc One operates 50 banks with 823 offices in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin.
