FPL SETS NEW SUMMER RECORD

 FPL SETS NEW SUMMER RECORD
MIAMI, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Power & Light Company, which

set a new unofficial summer record for electricity demand Wednesday, (7/8) of 14,582 megawatts, expects customer use to continue to be high today and tomorrow.
Power supplies are expected to be tight throughout the state due to the current heat wave. FPL has sufficient power resources to meet customer demand unless unexpected power generating unit problems should develop.
However, FPL reminds customers of the following routine energy saving recommendations and to help control summer energy bills:
-- set air conditioning thermostats at 78 degrees of higher, if comfortable; keep temperature readings constant
 -- operate ceiling fans
-- close curtains and blinds to help insulate homes and buildings against cooling loss.
-- limit use of clothes dryers and dishwashers during daylight hours to avoid unnecessarily heating your home.
