 Insurance Group Inc. (Nasdaq:FPIC) announced Monday the departure this past weekend of Robert B. Finch finch, common name for members of the Fringillidae, the largest family of birds (including over half the known species), found in most parts of the world except Australia. , executive vice president and chief financial officer of the company, and Steven R. Smith Steven R. Smith is an American musician, instrument-builder, and printmaker often associated with the Jewelled Antler collective. Born in Fullerton, California and based in San Francisco and, more recently, Los Angeles, his musical output began in the mid-1990’s and continues , president and chief executive officer of the company's wholly owned subsidiary Wholly Owned Subsidiary

A subsidiary whose parent company owns 100% of its common stock.

The company will record a one-time charge to earnings of approximately $1.75 million during the 3rd quarter of 1999 as a result of severance benefits payable over the next 28 months to Finch and Smith under their employment contracts.

The company also announced that William R. Russell, the company's president and chief executive officer, would also act as president and chief executive officer of Florida Physicians Insurance Co., a post he held previously, pending a search for a permanent replacement. In addition, David Rader, who had been president of Florida Physicians until 1990, has been retained as a consultant to assist Russell in the management of Florida Physicians.

The company named Steven Coniglio as its acting chief financial officer pending a search for a permanent replacement. Coniglio is the chief financial officer of Administrators for the Professions Inc., the company's subsidiary that acts as manager of Physicians Reciprocal Bilateral; two-sided; mutual; interchanged.

Reciprocal obligations are duties owed by one individual to another and vice versa. A reciprocal contract is one in which the parties enter into mutual agreements.
