FPD International 2006: The Leading International Exhibition and Forum on Flat Panel Display to Be Held in Yokohama on October 18.


YOKOHAMA, Japan -- Nikkei Business Publications Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. (株式会社日経BP  , Inc., Japan's most famous publishing company and part of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun Nihon Keizai Shimbun (日本経済新聞  Group, will hold FPD (1) (Flat Panel Display) See LCD, plasma display, EL display, FED and flat panel display.

 International 2006 from October 18 to 20 at Pacifico Yokohama Pacifico Yokohama (パシフィコ横浜) is a convention center in Japan located in the western region of Minato Mirai Nishi-ku Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. , in Yokohama, Japan.

FPD International is the only exhibition and forum on flat panel displays A thin display screen for computer and TV usage. The first flat panels appeared on laptop computers in the mid-1980s, and the LCD technology became the standard. Stand-alone LCD screens became available for desktop computers in the mid-1990s and exceeded sales of CRTs for the first time  (FPDs) in the world, where leading panel manufacturers forming the core part of the industry gather from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, the U.S., and Europe under one roof. It provides a perfect opportunity for electronics companies to obtain the latest information on FPDs.

The FPD International 2006 exhibition highlights the largest 85-or-more-inch LCD, 103-inch PDP (1) (Plasma Display Panel) See plasma display.

The annual FPD International has been growing into a large-scale event with more FPD-related business exhibitors each year. This year, FPD International 2006 will record the largest number of exhibitors in its history.

In line with the exhibition, the FPD Summit will be held as a part of the world's only forum that brings together representatives of panel manufacturers from Japan, Taiwan, and Korea. The summit features presentations by participants on the FPD market trend.

The forum will also feature seminars that are too good an opportunity for FPD-related business executives and engineers to pass up.
