FPCCI criticises petroleum levy.


LAHORE Lahore (ləhôr`), city (1998 pop. 5,063,499), capital of Punjab prov., E central Pakistan, on the Ravi River. It is the second largest city of Pakistan. , July 09, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) is located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been involved in aiding and stimulating the development of industry, trade, agriculture, mining, transport and allied activities  (FPCCI FPCCI Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry ) has criticised increasing of prices of petroleum products. Acting President FPCCI Mian Muhammad Idrees in a statement here on Thursday said that increase would harm interests of the business community and add to the sufferings of various other segments of the society. This would increase cost of doing business, he said and suggested the government to withdraw the increase and provide relief to the people. He expressed hope that the government would give due respect to the Supreme Courts decision in this regard and avoid damaging its fame through unpopular decisions.
