FP International Files Suit Against Pactiv Corporation and Storopack, Inc.

FP International (Free-Flow Packaging International, Inc.) announced today that the company filed two patent infringement patent infringement n. the manufacture and/or use of an invention or improvement for which someone else owns a patent issued by the government, without obtaining permission of the owner of the patent by contract, license or waiver.  lawsuits, one against Pactiv Corporation and one against Storopack, Inc., on December 22, 2003.

FP International is seeking damages and an injunction to stop these companies from using FP International's intellectual property, protected by U.S. Patent Nos. 6,519,916, 6,582,800 and 6,659,150. These patents of FP International relate to materials, methods and machines for making and conveying air cushion air cushion

The lawsuits, filed in U.S. District Court in Delaware and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, allege To state, recite, assert, or charge the existence of particular facts in a Pleading or an indictment; to make an allegation.

FP International is a leading manufacturer and provider of protective packaging products and packaging systems, including air cushions, polyethylene foam and bubble, loosefill made of recycled polystyrene polystyrene (pŏl'ēstī`rēn), widely used plastic; it is a polymer of styrene. Polystyrene is a colorless, transparent thermoplastic that softens slightly above 100°C; (212°F;) and becomes a viscous liquid at around 185°C;  and cornstarch cornstarch, material made by pulverizing the ground, dried residue of corn grains after preparatory soaking and the removal of the embryo and the outer covering. It is used as laundry starch, in sizing paper, in making adhesives, and in cooking.  and Kraft paper cushioning. The company also designs and makes custom dispensing/storage systems for air cushions and loosefill packaging.
