FOX BLASTS EXCESSIVE CELEBRITY MEDIA COVERAGE

Actor MICHAEL J. FOX has hit out at the tabloid media for exploiting the troubles of young celebrities such as LINDSAY LOHAN, BRITNEY SPEARS and PARIS HILTON.

The Back To The Future star is amazed so much media coverage is devoted to celebrity culture during a period when the U.S. is at war in Iraq.

He says, "When I see pictures of (underwear-less) Lindsay Lohan in the car or Paris Hilton - the level of glee and the level of viciousness - wow.

"We've got a war going on. We've got people dying. And we're all up in arms about these girls."

However, Fox admits he sympathises with the pressures young Hollywood stars face.

He adds, "I have such empathy for all these young women. I was there, and I did all that crap. We'd rip it up, y'know? And we never got busted on any of that stuff."
