The checkpoint was held from 7 p.m. Friday through 3 a.m. Saturday, sheriff's officials said Monday. A total of 1,184 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, where 1,170 were screened. Drivers of five vehicles were pulled off the line for further testing, and two of them were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Two additional arrests for driving under the influence were made by deputies monitoring the checkpoint for other vehicle code violations. |
