FOUR CALIFORNIA COMMUNITIES CHOOSE MAYFLOWER CONTRACT SERVICES FOR TRANSPORTATION

 OVERLAND PARK, Kan., July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Four California communities have selected Mayflower Contract Services Inc. (MCS) (NASDAQ: MAYF), the passenger services subsidiary of the Mayflower Group, to provide services valued at $7.2 million during the next three years.
 The single-largest contract calls for MCS to provide paratransit services for elderly and disabled riders in San Mateo County, Calif. MCS will operate 33 vehicles under the SamTrans Redi-Wheels program. The San Mateo County service begins Aug. 1 and the contract is valued at more than $3.5 million during the next three years.
 Developmentally disabled adults in Santa Cruz County will ride MCS- operated vehicles through a new agreement with the San Andreas Regional Center in San Jose, Calif. The 14 regularly scheduled routes provide hundreds of residents with access to work, rehabilitation programs and social services. Service on the three-year, $2 million contract began July 1.
 MCS will begin operating the Stage Line fixed-route bus service for Clovis, Calif., residents on Aug. 16. The three-year contract for five vehicles is worth $600,000.
 The Barstow, Calif., Unified School District has selected MCS to manage and operate its 28-vehicle student transportation system for the next three years. MCS will begin service in September for the district's 7,000 children. The contract is valued at $3.4 million over the contract term.
 Mayflower Contract Services Inc. employs 10,200 people nationwide and maintains a fleet of more than 7,800 vehicles in 26 states serving half a million passengers each day. MCS is headquartered in Overland Park and is a subsidiary of Mayflower Group Inc., which trades publicly on NASDAQ (symbol: MAYF).
