FORMER STUDENTS OF CV HIGH CHOIR TEACHER SOUGHT FOR TRIBUTE.

Byline: - Carol Bidwell

Are you a former student of Shirley Nute, teacher and choral director at Crescenta Valley High School for the past 38 years? If you are, some of your classmates are looking for you to help make up a mass choir to say goodbye to Nute, who's retiring. Deadline for mass choir signups is July 15; call Becky Castle, (818) 957-3197; Hal Laws, (818) 249-2505; or Patti Ratcliff, (805) 948-0259.

Nute's retirement party and show will begin at 6:45 p.m. July 25 in the Crescenta Valley High auditorium. Admission is $1 at the door. Event organizers are also seeking donations for a college scholarship to be awarded in Nute's name.

Friends, fellow teachers and former students are also asked to contribute a page of photos, poems or remembrances to be included in a memory book for the longtime instructor. Memory book pages can be brought to the event or mailed in advance to: Nute Memory Book, in care of 2518 Rockdell St., La Crescenta, Calif. 91214.
