FORMER REVOLUTION EXEC JOINING PARAMOUNT ROB MOORE WILL TAKE NEWLY CREATED, WIDE-RANGING POSITION.

Paramount Pictures Chairman Brad Grey continued to build his new senior executive team Thursday with the hiring of former Revolution Pictures executive Rob Moore Rob Moore may refer to any of the following:
  • Rob Moore (born 1973), Canadian lawyer and politician
  • Robert S. Moore (born 1968), professional football player for the New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals.
  • Rob Moore, actor appearing in National Lampoon's Senior Trip
 as the studio's president of worldwide marketing, distribution and operations.

Although Moore's position is newly created, it includes some of the same responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The officer of a firm responsible for day-to-day management, usually the president or an executive vice-president.
 and Vice Chairman Robert G. Friedman, who announced Tuesday that he is departing the studio.

``With his knowledge and experience, Rob will play an integral role in our growth both domestically and around the world,'' Grey said in a statement.

Moore will be responsible for domestic and international marketing and distribution, administration, legal and business affairs, and backlot backlot

``Brad Grey could not have found a better person in Hollywood to oversee Paramount's operations,'' Revolution founder Joe Roth said in a statement. ``Smart, decisive and experienced, Rob will help complete a terrific new management team.''

Grey replaced longtime Chairman Sherry Lansing Sherry Lansing (born July 31, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois as Sherry Lee Heimann) is the former CEO of Paramount Pictures and the first woman to head a major studio. In 2001 she was named one of the 30 most powerful women in America by Ladies Home Journal.  at the helm of the studio in February and has been slowly making key hires.

Moore is part of a new, more streamlined title and reporting structure with studio President Gail Berman Gail Berman (born August 17, 1956) is the former president of entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company and the former president of Viacom's Paramount Pictures.

She graduated from the University of Maryland in 1978.
, Moore, and Chief Financial Officer Mark Badagliacca, as well as Paramount Home Entertainment Paramount Home Entertainment (formerly Paramount Home Video) and (Paramount Video) is a home video company founded in 1976. It is a division of Paramount Pictures, which in turn is owned by Viacom.  President Tom Lesinski, and Paramount's specialty film division, Paramount Classics, all reporting directly to Grey.

``I am excited by Brad's vision for Paramount and am looking forward to being part of this new team,'' Moore said.

After years of box office struggles, Paramount has been enjoying a big summer with the major successes of ``War of the Worlds'' and ``The Longest Yard,'' which as of Thursday had grossed $174.3 million and $153.1 million, respectively.
