FORMER NAVISTAR EXECUTIVE NAMED PRESIDENT OF ALLIEDSIGNAL TRUCK BRAKE SYSTEMS COMPANY

 ELYRIA, Ohio, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Mark D. Schwabero has been named president of AlliedSignal Truck Brake Systems Company. The company, a joint venture company of AlliedSignal Inc. (NYSE: ALD), supplies Bendix brake systems and components to the trucking industry.
 According to Don DeFosset, vice president and group executive, Allied Signal Turbocharging & Truck Brake Systems, Schwabero will be responsible for the North American operations of the joint venture, which was formed recently by AlliedSignal Inc. of Morris Township, N.J., and Knorr-Bremse AG of Munich, Germany. He will also serve on the global management board that coordinates and gives direction to the North American joint venture and a similar joint venture in Europe. He will be based in Elyria.
 Schwabero spent the last 17 years at Navistar International Corp., where he most recently was group vice president, truck business, for the $4 billion truck and diesel engine manufacturer. In this position he headed the medium-duty truck and bus and heavy-duty truck business units. His past positions at Navistar included group vice president, operations; senior vice president, truck manufacturing; general manager, medium-duty products; assistant vice president of sales; and plant manager.
 Schwabero has both master's and bachelor's degrees in industrial systems and engineering from Ohio State University.
 AlliedSignal is an advanced manufacturing company serving customers worldwide with aerospace and automotive products, chemicals, fibers, plastics and advanced materials. The company's automotive business, AlliedSignal Automotive, based in Southfield, Mich., is a leading supplier of commercial and light-vehicle braking systems, air bags, seat belts, turbochargers, filters and spark plugs. It serves original equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket.
