FORMER MONTANA LOTTERY DIRECTOR JOINS VIDEO LOTTERY TECHNOLOGIES
BOZEMAN, Mont., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Video Lottery Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: VLTS), today announced that Charles "Chuck" Brooke, a former director of the Montana Lottery, has joined the company effective immediately. Brooke's position will be announced at a later date.
Brooke, who served as director of the Montana Lottery from 1989 to 1990, has most recently been serving as director of the Montana Department of Commerce. In that capacity, he was responsible for overseeing Montana's various economic development programs, including tourism and international trade. He also served as chairman of the State Banking Commission.
During his tenure as director of the Montana Lottery, Brooke was credited with halting a two-year decline in lottery sales and revenues and compiling four consecutive quarters of increased sales prior to his promotion to director of commerce. He also oversaw the implementation of the state's on-line lottery system and Montana's first on-line game -- Lotto-America. As lottery director, Brooke also served on the board of directors of the Multi-State Lottery Association.
"Chuck worked for us for a short time prior to being appointed lottery director" said Larry Lippon, chairman and CEO of Video Lottery. "I'm extremely pleased that he has rejoined our management team in time to play an active role in the merger of Automated Wagering and Video Lottery Consultants. His insight as a former lottery director, a cabinet official, and head of a very successful advertising agency will undoubtedly prove to be valuable assets to our company and to the lotteries we serve."
Video Lottery Technologies Inc., through its principal subsidiaries, Video Lottery Consultants Inc. and Automated Wagering International Inc., is the leading manufacturer of video lottery terminals and is one of the principal operators of systems software and related services for the on-line lottery and video lottery markets. Presently, the company's on-line lottery and video lottery terminals and systems are in operation in Western Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States.
