FORMER JPL GUARD FACING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES.

David Wayne Phifer, 40, of Rancho Cucamonga was indicted INDICTED, practice. When a man is accused by a bill of indictment preferred by a grand jury, he is said to be indicted.  in April on charges that he downloaded two images of child pornography on Feb. 25, 1999, and accessed a government computer without authorization. He faces 15 years in prison if convicted.

Phifer was on patrol for Florida-based Wackenhut Services Inc., which provides security for JPL, when he used a computer in a secure area to retrieve the information, officials said. The security guard was subsequently fired.
