TONGUE-IN-CHEEK COMMENTARIES TO AIR THROUGH APRIL 15
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Internal Revenue Service auditor Liz Pashko, whose own figure was spotlighted in an eight-page pictorial in last year's tax-time issue of Playboy magazine (May 1991), will be helping cable television viewers with their figures this year in an exclusive series of tax tips on the nationwide pay-per-view network "Playboy At Night."
According to "Playboy At Night" Vice President for Programming Richard Bencivengo, "Although our primary purpose as a cable network is entertainment, we're never averse to offering our viewers some timely information as well -- particularly when we can present it in such as appealing way."
Bencivengo said that tax expert Pashko's advice will cover such appropriate topics as the legality of writing off birth control expenses, listing the purchase price of Playboy magazine as a business deduction and how to handle medical expenses for treating sexual dysfunction.
"We're not trying to promote Liz as the buttondown tax accountant of cable," Bencivengo said. "Ninety percent of each of her reports is written just for fun.
"By the same token, she'll never go for a laugh at the risk of giving our viewers any tax advice that she does not believe is accurate and credible."
The blonde-haired, brown-eyed Pashko left the IRS left the IRS before publication of her 1991 Playboy layout and now both models and works as a private accountant.
A typical nugget of Paskho tax wisdom: "Travel and entertainment are almost always audited on your return, so be squeaky clean in this area."
And according to her "Playboy At Night" reports, people can claim Playboy magazine as a legitimate business deduction ... if they're a barber or other businessman who provide the publication "strictly for his customers' enjoyment."
"Playboy At Night" is a service of the Playboy Entertainment Group, which is owned by Playboy Enterprises Inc., an international publishing and entertainment company that publishes Playboy magazine and related media, including newsstand specials and calendars; licenses 15 foreign editions of Playboy magazine; operates a direct marketing business including the Playboy and Critics' Choice Video catalogs; creates and distributes programming for Playboy's domestic pay television networks, worldwide home video and international television; and markets the Playboy trademarks on apparel, accessories and products for consumers around the world. The company's publishing interests also include a 20 percent stake in the duPont Registry, a monthly buyer's guide to classic and luxury automobiles, and a partnership in SV Entertainment, a general interest magazine for business travelers, distributed in hotels that carry the Spectravision pay television service.
