FORD VEHICLE SALES STAY UPBEAT IN THE ATLANTA REGION

 ATLANTA, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on sales results, November was an outstanding month for Atlanta-region Ford dealers.
 "Truck sales were up 17 percent in Ford Division's Atlanta Region in November, compared with November 1992," said Leo Warner, manager for the Ford Division Atlanta Region. Car sales increased 7 percent.
 The region has 414 dealers and covers all or parts of five states.
 Ford Division cars with the most increased sales in November were Ford Escort (up 66 percent); Thunderbird (up 49 percent), and Crown Victoria (up 45 percent).
 Ford Truck sales highlights include Ranger (up 48 percent); Aerostar (up 50 percent), and Econoline (up 24 percent).
 Since January, Ford Division's Atlanta Region sales have increased 25 percent for cars and 23 percent for trucks over the January-November period last year.
 Sales by Lincoln-Mercury's 575 Atlanta-region dealers in 13 states also increased. Lincoln-Mercury sales were up 27 percent in November, compared with sales in November 1992.
 "Grand Marquis was Lincoln-Mercury's best-selling vehicle in November," said Dave Reis, manager for the Lincoln-Mercury Southeast Region.
 Other Lincoln-Mercury sales leaders were Mark VIII (up 298 percent), Cougar (up 42 percent) and Tracer (up 59 percent).
 "We also sold 820 Mercury Villagers in this region in November," Reis added. "Villager was introduced just last year."
 Since January, Lincoln-Mercury sales have increased 17 percent over the January-November period last year.
