FORD TO SELL MEXICAN TRIM OPERATIONS

 DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) will sell part of its North American automotive seating and seat trim business to Lear Holdings Corporation of Southfield, Mich.
 The sale includes Favesa S.A. de C.V., Juarez, Mexico, and some of Ford's seat design and engineering activities in the U.S. Favesa's approximately 6,000 employees produce seat trim products for Ford North American vehicles.
 "Addressing employee concerns was an important goal of our negotiations," said Frank Macher, general manager of Ford's Plastic and Trim Products Division. "Lear has shown a great deal of interest in meeting employee needs. Employees joining Lear will remain important to Ford as members of its greater family of key suppliers."
 The transaction will be completed in a few months, subject to any governmental review.
