PALMDALE -- A Ford dealership will open on Palmdale's auto mall lineup A criminal investigation technique in which the police arrange a number of individuals in a row before a witness to a crime and ask the witness to identify which, if any, of the individuals committed the crime. , under an agreement approved by the City Council.

Mike Johnson, who already has a Ford dealership in Lancaster, will set up a 30,000-square-foot lot and service center on seven acres at the southwest corner of Carriage Way and Auto Center Drive. The dealership is slated to be open no later than December 2008.

``There's a lot of Ford owners, such as myself, that won't have to drive as far for service,'' Mayor Jim Ledford said. ``This makes our auto mall more comprehensive.''

Under the agreement, Johnson has until December 2007 to make a final decision moving forward with the project, said Dave Walter, Palmdale's economic development manager.

Johnson is acquiring the site from the city's redevelopment agency for $1.8 million. In keeping with similar land transactions at the auto mall, the company will not actually pay for the property. Instead, the city would write off the sales price through sales-tax revenue generated by the new business over the next 10 years.

The dealership, which would also include the Lincoln Lincoln, city and district, England

It is usually collected in the form of an extra charge by the retailer, who remits the tax to the government.  over a 20-year period. The dealership will also provide about 50 jobs.

City officials said they are hopeful upscale dealerships, such as Infiniti, Lexus and Volvo, will begin taking a hard look at the auto mall.

``When you look at what people are driving here, there's a demand up here,'' Ledford said.

Also in the works for the auto mall is a Harley-Davidson motorcycle motorcycle, motor vehicle whose design is based on the bicycle. The motorcycle did not become dependable and popular, however, until after 1900.  dealership planned for 3.1 acres at the northeast corner of Carriage Way and Avenue Q. The dealership would be a satellite unit for Ron Emard's Harley-Davidson of Lancaster.

The Palmdale motorcycle dealership will cover 12,000 to 15,000 square feet of sales floor space plus a 6,000-square-foot vehicle-storage building.

Additional amenities for the dealership could include areas for motorcycle club This article is about "American-style" motorcycle clubs (MCs) as a specific cultural phenomenon, not motorcycle riding clubs in the generic sense of the term.
