FOR WOMEN ONLY ... A NEW INSTRUCTION SCHOOL BY DR. GOLF AT MADDEN'S RESORT

BRAINERD, Minn., May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Madden's Resort has announced an instructional school designed especially for women golfers, who collectively comprise the fastest growth segment in the Midwest's most popular sport.
The school -- "For Women Only" -- was developed by Dr. Golf, Madden's new head professional.
For Women Only will consist of affordable three-day and four-day schools tailored to the unique golfing needs of those who pursue the game from the red tees.
With 45 very playable golf holes, Madden's is ideally suited for women golfers. Its tree-framed courses are challenging for players of all level and rank among the Upper Midwest's best maintained resort facilities.
Madden's, on popular Gull Lake, has undertaken major renovations of its practice range to accommodate Dr. Golf's schools.
Madden's provides the region's most complete resort amenities and conference facilities. The resort, just 130 miles north of the Twin Cities, has provided quality get-away enjoyment for more than 50 years in the heart of Minnesota's forested lake country.
For Women Only will launch in June, with schools continuing through the summer and fall.
Schools will be three or four days in length, and each will include several hours of daily lessons and specialized on-the-course instruction. Attending students may play at least 18 holes of golf daily and hit unlimited range balls during their stay at Madden's.
At each school, Dr. Golf (a.k.a. Ron Way) will provide video swing analysis at the start and completion of instruction. Students will be coached on the proper grip, set-up posture, ball alignment, and the critically important short game.
"Pro golfer Marleen Floyd says most women pay scant attention to pitching, chipping and putting," said Dr. Golf. "The short game is where most women can best realize game improvement, and we give it priority attention."
Complementing swing instruction on the lesson tee, Dr. Golf will join students on the golf course for special instruction on course management and proper etiquette.
A popular package will be the four-day "retreat" that offers instruction on all golf basics in addition to unlimited golf on Madden's three courses.
The For Women Only "retreat" includes two or three nights of lodging, all meals, and access to Madden's abundant amenities during non-golf periods.
Dr. Golf has developed quality instructional programs in the Twin Cities for beginning and intermediate golfers. A professional clubmaker, he writes a Sunday column in the Star Tribune on golf equipment. At his schools, Dr. Golf will analyze students' clubs and provide "prescriptions" on how their equipment may be customized to help their games.
Prices for Dr. Golf schools vary according to accommodations, days of the week, and range of instruction desired by the attending students. Discounts are available for groups of six or more.
 For a three-day (two-night) school, pre-tax and pre-service American plan costs range from $390 to $490; a four-day school will cost from $535 to $685.
For Women Only golf information is available by calling for "Dr. Golf Schools" at 218-829-2811 or Madden's reservations at 800-642-5363.
