FOR THE RECORD.

A sentence near the end of Saturday's story about sexual-misconduct allegations against the Rev. Dominic Savino mistakenly contained the last name of the Carmelite order's spokesman rather than Savino when referring to accusations in the 1970s. As the story reported throughout, the current and earlier allegations concern only Savino, who was removed as president of Crespi High School in Encino. The sentence should have read: The religious order's investigators said there had been allegations against Savino in the late 1970s, but that they never reached the top tiers of the order for review.

The Rev. Dan O'Neill is the Carmelite order's sexual misconduct advisory board spokesman. His last name mistakenly appeared instead of Savino's in the sentence in question. No allegations have been made about him. The Daily News regrets any confusion this may have caused.
