Interest rates are at their best level in years. Or maybe you're you're Contraction of you are. you're you are you're be thinking of selling. Well, did you hear? That house down the street sold in a week. ``Things are selling extremely fast. They're they're Contraction of they are. they're be going to multiple offers,'' said Linda Wedhoff, broker and owner of Century 21 Newhall Valencia Realty realty n. a short form of "real estate." It reminds me of the '80s. It's really hard to judge where the market is right now.'' Still, Wedhoff has been telling family members to buy now before it's too late and they can't afford a thing on the market. ``I think it's going to keep going up,'' she said. But it's definitely a seller's market, Wedhoff said. Where last year buyers were getting the sellers to cover some of the closing costs Closing Costs The numerous expenses (over and above the price of the property) that buyers and sellers normally incur to complete a real estate transaction. David Loyd, general manager for Executive Realty in Newhall, agreed. ``If they're priced correctly, they're going to go very, very quickly,'' Loyd said. ``The most important criteria is price.'' Loyd said he's noticed a recent slowing of the market, probably due to families taking vacation. Without question, however, the market is strong and will likely get stronger, he said. The increase in prices is allowing homeowners who bought during the peak in the 1980s to finally move on to another home, he said. Some may even be waiting a bit longer to get their money back, he said. ``It's barreling right along,'' Loyd said. ``Interest rates are very good. Prices are good. The demand is there. It's a good time to buy and a good time to sell. It's just all sorts of great factors coming together at once.'' |
