FOR AREA CHORUS, SHOW'S A CABARET.

The harmonies of the award-winning Channelaire Chorus are coming to the Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. Avocados, citrus, vegetables, strawberries, and nursery products are grown.  Community Center on Saturday with their first cabaret show.

The performance by the Ventura County Chapter of Sweet Adelines International Sweet Adelines International is a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performances.  will depart from the chorus' annual musical productions, which have included lavish costumes and sets, and had required a large theater or auditorium. The cabaret style will offer a more intimate setting.

The 90-woman chorus, under the direction of Judy Ashmore of Thousand Oaks, will present ``Life Is a Cabaret,'' which will feature the chorus and chorus quartets. The 7 p.m. event will include a catered dinner with homemade desserts made by chorus members.

Quartets that will perform are the 1997 Sweet Adelines Sweet Adeline
