FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: TAFT ROLLS IN ITS LEAGUE OPENER.

--Pasadena 20, Hoover 6: Host Hoover of Glendale jumped out to a 6-0 lead but couldn't contain Pasadena's Laman Branner in the Pacific League opener for both schools.

Branner ran the ball 41 times for 236 yards and three touchdowns.

Hoover (2-3-1, 0-1) led early on Sevak Kesshishian's 20-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The score was set up by a Pasadena fumble on a punt-return attempt.

Pasadena (3-3, 1-0) then stole the momentum and dominated the game defensively and by running the ball. Pasadena had four sacks and two interceptions and punished pun·ish
