FOOTBALL: WIN AT COC BIG FOR BONDS.

During two years as starting quarterback at Hart High of Newhall, College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  was Jim Bonds' field of dreams.

But for the past two decades, it had been a field of nightmares for Bonds, who until last Friday hadn't won at COC See chip on chip.  during his coaching career at Alemany of Mission Hills and St. Francis of La Canada Flintridge.

``I've had a lot of great experiences as a player here,'' said Bonds, who lost 35-34 in double-overtime to Saugus in his last game at COC, in 2004. ``I saw my brother win a CIF (1) (Common Intermediate Format) A standard video format used in videoconferencing. CIF formats are defined by their resolution, and standards both above and below the original resolution have been established. The original CIF is also known as Full CIF (FCIF).  championship, and I was part of one myself (as a player), but as a coach, I hadn't won on this field.''

Bonds, who passed for 5,702 yards and 53 touchdowns at Hart, lost track of how many setbacks he had suffered at COC. His first victory came in thrilling fashion, as senior kicker Neil Favor connected on a 41-yard field goal as time expired to help the Golden Knights

Royal of Simi Valley offensive tackle James Clark suffered a back injury after being speared on the final play of the first quarter of Friday's 31-0 Marmonte League loss to Westlake.

The game was delayed 14 minutes, and Clark was placed on a stretcher and taken off the field in an ambulance and taken to Los Robles Robles is a common surname in the Spanish language meaning oaks, and may refer to:

The 6-foot-2 senior initially reported numbness after the injury, but he regained all feeling before leaving the hospital. Clark will undergo further tests later this week and will miss Friday's game at Thousand Oaks.
