FOOTBALL: PARS STARS.

DUNFERMLINE are to invite heroes from the club's golden era to take part in the opening ceremony for their new plastic pitch on September 20.

Past players from the 1960s onwards will join former European footballer of the year Jean Pierre Papin, German World Cup winner Karl Heinz Riedle and ex Liverpool ace Ian Rush at the unveiling before the Pars face Hibs in the SPL.

Papin, Riedle and Rush all work for XL Turf, who have provided the Pars with the new surface.
