FONOROLA INTRODUCES HIGH-SPEED INTERNATIONAL DATA SERVICES CANADIAN BUSINESS TO GAIN WORLD-WIDE NETWORK ACCESS

VANCOUVER, Feb. 22 /CNW/ - fONOROLA, a Canadian reseller of value-added telecommunications services, is announcing the introduction of the fastest, most comprehensive data telecommunications service available commercially in Canada today.
For the first time, fONOROLA'S customers will be able to link their local area networks with a U.S. high-speed network and be able to communicate and collaborate with commercial, governmental and educational organizations over the worldwide Internet, a confederation of more than 9,000 autonomous, interconnected data networks. fONOROLA'S customers will be able to access and transport large amounts of information not previously possible over the traditional switched telecommunications networks.
Through an agreement reached with ANS CO+RE, a major supplier of commercial networking services in the United States, fONOROLA will provide connectivity for local area networks across North America with the ANS network, the U.S.-wide network with connections to Europe, Canada and Mexico.
Initially fONOROLA will offer the TCP/IP (Internet) services to customers in Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver with plans to expand these services to Calgary, Halifax and Quebec City later this year. The fONOROLA network and the ANS network will be linked at Seattle and New York city with T1 connections making it one of the highest-speed public wide-area networks on the world.
In addition to the network interconnections, fONOROLA will offer ANS CO+RE's (x) InterLock family of security services giving Canadian corporations the most effective network security available in the marketplace.
In announcing the agreement, Jan Peeters, president and CEO of fONOROLA says, "Our partnership with ANS allows us to take advantage of their expertise in TCP/IP networking and extend high-performance and reliable Internet services to our customers. In turn, our customers in fields as diverse as banking, pharmaceuticals and petrochemicals can instantly reach supply, distributors and branch offices in markets the world over."
fONOROLA will be able to offer customers substantial savings in personnel costs or increased efficiency due to the ability to electronically access information from these services. For example, a company might want to keep current on changing regulatory legislation which would help them avoid costly litigation. Companies working on a patent could access information which might help them avoid patent infringement lawsuits. These are some of the benefits to having access to current information in centers all over the world.
Canadian companies will now be able to conduct their business throughout North America on an equal footing with the American market. Joel Maloff, ANS vice president of client services added, "The fONOROLA/ANS collaboration exemplifies what is happening today in high-speed data communications."
    (x) Interlock is a servicemark of ANS CO+RE.
