 graduates Lisa Fernandez Lisa Fernandez (born February 22, 1971, in New York City) is a renowned softball pitcher of Cuban-Puerto Rican descent who established an Olympic record in softball with 25 strikeouts as a member of the United States Women Olympic Softball Team. , Sheila Cornell and Dot Richardson Dorothy ("Dot") Gay Richardson (born September 22, 1961 in Orlando, Florida) is a former international softball player. She used to play on the sidelines at her brothers' baseball games.  lead the U.S. softball team into tonight's gold-medal final. In a 1-0, 10-inning victory over China, Fernandez earned the pitching decision and Cornell singled home Richardson for the only run.

TAKING AIM: Justin Huish of Simi Valley competes in archery today. Huish had the top finish for the U.S. team, ninth in the men's event with 670, in Sunday's opening competition.
