FOCUS Enhancements, Inc. (NASDAQ: FCSE), a global leader in professional video production and conversion, today announced availability of the QuadScan Elite HD, the latest member of the award winning QuadScan family. QuadScan Elite HD is a video scaler designed for use with high definition video display monitors, plasma panels, and projectors in the home theater and professional video markets.

The QuadScan Elite HD addresses the needs of today's convergence markets by significantly enhancing video images within the display's native resolution. The QuadScan Elite HD is extremely flexible, accepting video signals from industry standard sources such as DVD players, live broadcast feeds and PVRs (Personal Video Recorders such as Tivo and Replay). The result is a precise, film-like image with intensified detail, contrast, and color that is free of scan lines, flicker, and other distracting artifacts. The QuadScan Elite HD supports the following display resolutions: 1280 x 720p (HDTV), 1365x1024 (D-ILA), 1366x768 (60"/50" Plasma), 1280 x 768 (50" Plasma), and 1024 x 1024 (42" Plasma), 852 x 480 (42" Plasma), and 1024 x 768(XGA).

QuadScan Elite HD is available in NTSC and PAL and has two input channels, each available as composite (RCA or BNC), Y/C (four-pin mini-DIN), or component (BNC). A VGA computer pass through input is also provided. All output is directed through a 15-pin VGA-type connection. The QuadScan Elite HD provides auto-save adjustments for sync configuration, contrast, brightness, saturation, hue, component level, termination impedance, output resolution, sizing, image positioning and justification. Control options include, front panel, an infrared remote (supplied), or RS232/422.

The QuadScan Elite HD is extremely competitive in comparison to other video processors, and has an U.S. suggested retail price of $1,699 for the desktop model, and $1,899 for the rack-mount model. Each carries a three-year limited warranty and is shipped with an assortment of cables and adapters in addition to a remote control and operator's manual.
