FM receives delegation of Polish MPs.

TUNIS, Nov. 13, 2009 (TAP)- Foreign Affairs Minister Abdelwaheb Abdallah received, on Friday in Tunis, a delegation of Polish MPs led by Mr. Wieslaw Woda, Chairman ofAa Poland-Tunisia Friendship Group.

During the talk, Mr. Abdelwaheb Abdallah praised the quality of Tunisian-Polish co-operation, reminding of the State visit paid by President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali to Warsaw in March 2000 and the one paid in Tunis by the Polish President in October 2002.Aa He said these visits were key stages in developing bilateral relations.

The minister pointed out that bilateral exchanges remain, however, below the economic and commercial potential of the two countries and the firm political will of the two sides to further step up these exchanges and hoist them to the level of a mutually beneficial partnership.

Mr. Abdelwaheb Abdallah expressed hope that the two countries' businessmen will establish more contacts to identify opportunities of exchanges and incentivers in matters of investment.

The two sides also stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in bringing peoples together and enriching and strengthening bilateral relations at all levels.

Following the meeting, Mr. Woda said the talk had made it possible to review the development of Tunisian-Polish relations and ways to boost them in the two countries' interest, particularly, he pointed, on the celebration, this year, of the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tunis and Warsaw.

He said, in this regard, that there are real opportunities of co-operation in the tourism, industry and trade sectors.
