FLOYD Mayweather Junior has landed the first shot ahead of a potential showdown with Manny Pacquiao by branding the Filipino "one-dimensional".

Mayweather says he is willing to put his reputation as world pound-for-pound king on the line in a superfight with Pacquiao.

And typical of the unbeaten American, Mayweather has been quick to rubbish Pacquiao's 12th-round stoppage of Miguel Cotto to claim the WBO welterweight crown and become a sevenweight world champion. "Is Pacquiao the greatest?" said Mayweather, who has won world titles at five different weights. "Well, if he wants to fight Floyd Mayweather all he has to do is step up to the plate.

"I don't see any versatility as a fighter. He's a good puncher, but he's just one-dimensional."

Mayweather, 32, added: "The world's going to go 'wow' if Floyd Mayweather gets beaten. But when I beat him no-one is going to be surprised as he's been beaten before."

The clash of the superstars would probably be the richest fight in history, eclipsing the pounds 46million generated by Mayweather's win over Oscar De La Hoya in 2007.

Amir Khan is being targeted by nemesis Breidis Prescott and domestic rival Kevin Mitchell, who meet in a WBO lightweight title eliminator on the undercard of his WBA light-welterweight defence against Dmitry Salita on December 5 in Newcastle.

Prescott, who beat Khan inside a minute last year, said: "I would consider giving him a rematch."
