Twister would have given patrons a 15-minute special-effects show with what was billed as the world's largest simulated tornado tornado, dark, funnel-shaped cloud containing violently rotating air that develops below a heavy cumulonimbus cloud mass and extends toward the earth. The funnel twists about, rises and falls, and where it reaches the earth causes great destruction. . The indoor attraction is designed to handle about 2,000 customers per hour. Universal owns the theme-park rights to ``Twister,'' which was a major success at movie theaters in 1996. Yeager said no specific date has been set for launching the attraction. If Twister is well-received at the Florida park, Universal Studios Hollywood likely would open a version, Yeager said. |
