FLORIDA PROGRESS ANNOUNCES ANNUAL DIVIDEND OF $2.84 ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Progress
Corporation (NYSE: FPC) today declared a quarterly dividend of 71 cents per share on its outstanding common stock, payable Dec. 20, 1991, to shareholders of record at the close of business Dec. 5, 1991. The board increased the annual dividend by 10 cents per share, raising the annual dividend to $2.84 per share. This represents a dividend growth rate of 3.6 percent.
Florida Progress has increased dividends paid per share for 39 consecutive years -- a track record better than all but nine of the more than 1,700 companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Florida Progress is a $5-billion diversified utility holding company whose principal subsidiary is St. Petersburg-based Florida Power Corporation, the state's second largest electric utility.
