FLORIDA OUSTS PEPPERDINE FLORIDA 3, PEPPERDINE 0.

Byline: - Daily News

The Pepperdine women's volleyball team's run in the NCAA Tournament was stopped abruptly Friday, when the Waves were trounced by Florida 30-28, 30-25, 30-16 at the Sweet 16 in Lincoln, Neb.

The eighth-ranked Waves (23-4) had a 13-match winning streak going in, but the seventh-ranked Gators (28-1), who have won 26 consecutive matches, held Pepperdine to a .096 hitting percentage.

Stacy Rouwenhorst led the Waves with 12 kills.

Pepperdine's best moments came early. The Waves led 27-20 in the first game before Florida scored 10 of the next 11 points and never looked back.

Katie Wilkins added eight kills and Melissa Snow contributed seven for the Waves. Paola Rodriguez had 31 assists.

Snow and Rouwenhorst also had 15 and 14 digs, respectively.
