Byline: Yvette Cabrera Daily News Staff Writer

Convicted killer Glen Rogers made his first appearance in a Los Angeles court Monday after being extradited from Florida to face trial for the grisly murder of a mother of three found dead in a Van Nuys neighborhood.

Rogers appeared briefly at the Criminal Courts Building in downtown Los Angeles Downtown Los Angeles is the central business district of Los Angeles, California, located close to the geographic center of the metropolitan area. The extradition, which had been delayed for more than a year by appeals, went off without a hitch, Fisk said.

Rogers is accused of raping, strangling and setting fire to 31-year-old Sandra Gallagher in 1995. Prosecutors say Rogers offered Gallagher a ride to her home in Santa Monica from a Van Nuys cocktail lounge, then killed her before fleeing on a cross-country murder spree.

Rogers was convicted in 1997 of fatally stabbing a woman in Florida, where he has been on Death Row. While his appeals continue in that conviction, he will be tried in the Gallagher case in Los Angeles.
