FLORIDA JURY FINDS GUN MAKER LIABLE IN SHOOTING DEATH.


A Florida jury found the manufacturer of a "Saturday night special Saturday Night Special

A slang term used to refer to a surprise takeover attempt.

Notes:
The term alludes to the fact that many takeover bids are announced over the weekend in order to avoid too much publicity.

The jury of six women found Valor valor

 Corp. was liable for 5 percent of a $24 million judgment in the death of Barry Grunow at the hands of Nathaniel Brazill, who is serving a 28-year sentence.

Jurors found the gun's owner 50 percent responsible and the Palm Beach County school board 45 percent responsible, but they weren't defendants and won't have to pay.

Plaintiffs' attorney Bob Montgomery Bob Montgomery is a name shared by several people:
  • Bob Montgomery (born 1937), an American singer/songwriter and music producer
  • Bob Montgomery (born 1944), a Major League catcher for the Boston Red Sox from 1970 to 1979
 said he would ask the court to order Valor to pay all the judgment.

Valor said it would appeal.
